Apical Root Elevator

Art# 8001

description

An apical Root elevator is a precision Dental Surgical instrument used to loosen teeth, luxate them from the periodontal socket, separate the periodontal ligament, and remove deep-seated, fractured, or broken root tips with minimal trauma to surrounding tissues.

The Blade:
The working tip (often measuring 2.5mm to 3.5mm), which is slender, sharp, and may be straight, angled, left, or right to allow for deep apical access.

The Shank:
The shaft connecting the handle and blade, designed to transmit force accurately.

The Handle:
Typically a lightweight, textured, or octagonal hollow grip that ensures a non-slip hold and enables controlled rotation.

Straight Elevators (e.g., Fig. 301, Fig. 1): Ideal for general luxation and loosening of erupted teeth prior to extraction with forceps.

Angled Elevators (e.g., Fig. 4, Fig. 77R, Left/Right Fig. 1-2): Specialized for accessing specific quadrants or curved, hard-to-reach root spaces.
