The Woodward Elevator #190 (often used in a pair with the #191) is a specialized surgical dental instrument designed to luxate teeth and separate the periodontal ligament, primarily in the dense bone of the mandible.

Tip Design: Features a flat, pointed, and often serrated tip that easily penetrates the periodontal cleft.

 

Tip Size: Standardized at approximately 3.0 mm in width.

Application: Used on the left side (while the #191 is used on the right) to gently loosen roots and ease extractions, effectively minimizing trauma to the surrounding tissue and adjacent teeth.
